FAQ & Credits
Q: What is The Zatsu?
A: The Zatsu is somewhere between a website and a zine spotlighting work by
VTubers that's worth checking out for one reason or another. It might be a
Let's Play that introduced me to my new favorite game, a hilarious bit from
a collab, or a cozy stream and a chill game that hit me on a rough day when
I really needed it.
If you're a fan of VTubers, I'm sure you know what I
mean.
Although I sometimes create as a VTuber, and have been fortunate enough to
make friends in the space, The Zatsu will not be promoting or
discussing any of that. It is intended as a blog to catalog what work I
enjoyed: to curate, highlight, and remember.
Q: Why "Zatsu?"
A: Zatsu, from "Zatsudan" is the Japanese stream equivalent of a "Just Chatting" or "Yapping" stream. It's also the first part of the word for magazine, "zasshi." It literally means rough or miscellaneous, so I thought it was appropriate for a webzine covering VTubers.
Q: Do you take sponsorships, run ads, or write paid feature articles?
A: No, and I never will.
Q: Will you cover VTuber news?
A: No. I'm only writing about creative works by VTubers that I've enjoyed, or have left an impression on me.
Q: Why'd you put yourself on the cover? Are you some kind of egomaniac?
A: I just wanted to only use art/IP I've commissioned personally so I don't run into rights or permissions issues.
